Wedding Anniversary Stones

Wedding anniversary creeping up on you?  A lot of women expect new gems for their anniversary.  There's even a common guideline for what stone comes with each anniversary.  For example, the first anniversary is gold jewelry.  Think that's an expensive purchase?  The rocks are only going to get bigger!

5th Anniversary - look for a great sapphire for this important anniversary.  It can be on a ring, bracelet, or necklace.  You might even accent your diamond engagement ring with a sapphire.

10th Anniversary - this is the diamond anniversary.  Some people upgrade the diamond on the engagement ring since you likely have more money to spend now than when you got engaged.  But your partner will be equally happy with a new diamond ring, diamond tennis bracelet, or sparkling diamond earrings.

15th Anniversary - shop online or at your favorite jewelry store for a ruby.

20th Anniversary - get the luck of the Irish with an emerald.

25th Anniversary - here's one you might not be familiar with.  This anniversary is for the silver jubilee.  Sometimes people give a green garnet instead.

30th Anniversary - 5 more years and time for another jubilee -- this time a pearl jubilee.

35th Anniversary - another emerald.  Hey, the last one you bought is 15 years old!

40th Anniversary - another Ruby.  Remember the one you bought her 25 years ago?

50th Anniversary - the Golden Anniversary requires a golden jubilee. You can also get away with a gold topaz.

60th Anniversary - diamond jubilee or a star ruby.  This is also the common stone for the 75th anniversary.

If you make it past 60 anniversaries you are a healthy, happy couple.  But your wallet might be a bit slimmer!
